Our recommendation

Buy Nootropics Depot PrimaVie

It is PrimaVie, the purified shilajit used in two human trials. Two 250 mg capsules give the 500 mg a day used in an exercise trial. Its reports name the lab, the lot and each metal.

Costs are each brand’s own list price for 500 mg of shilajit, checked October 18, 2026. Amazon’s price can differ. The gummy’s cost is for 500 mg of a concentrated extract and the resin is dosed by eye, so neither is a like-for-like amount.

Is any shilajit on a public testing list?

No. We searched NSF Certified for Sport, Informed Sport, Informed Choice, NSF/ANSI 173, USP Verified for every shilajit we score, between August 25, 2026 and September 22, 2026, and found none. A batch report from the brand is the best proof there is.

What a shilajit lab report shows

Which metals, and the numbers. The Nootropics Depot PrimaVie report for the 90-capsule lot (PMVCS1031726A, March 17, 2026) lists arsenic 0.3039 ppm against a limit of 3, and lead 0.0790 ppm against 1.5. Cadmium and mercury were each under 0.01 ppm. Those limits are the brand’s own, not a public safety standard.

The lab. The report is from Omnient Labs in Tempe, Arizona, and prints an accreditation mark. It also includes an identity test (HPTLC) that matched shilajit.

What is not on it. The capsule reports do not test for thallium, microbes or fulvic acid. Toniiq Shilajit Gummies’s report from Certified Group, Tustin adds microbe tests and a fulvic acid assay; it does not list thallium either.

How to check your own jar

  1. Find the lot number on the jar or bottle. Open the brand’s lab report page and look for that lot.
  2. Look for the lab’s name and an accreditation mark, not only a pass line.
  3. Look for a number for lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury.
  4. Ask the brand for a thallium result. A 2025 study found thallium in some shilajit supplements (Kamgar 2025).
  5. Treat a fulvic acid percent as a claim unless the report names its test.

This page compares products. It is not medical advice. Ask your doctor before taking shilajit if you take regular medicine.

Questions

Is there a shilajit tested for heavy metals?

Yes. Nootropics Depot PrimaVie and Toniiq Shilajit Gummies post lab reports with a number for each of arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury. Match the lot number on your jar to a report.

Is any shilajit on NSF, USP or Informed Choice?

Not the ones we checked. We searched NSF Certified for Sport, Informed Sport, Informed Choice, NSF/ANSI 173, USP Verified between August 25, 2026 and September 22, 2026. That leaves a brand’s posted report as the best proof.

Do these reports test for thallium?

No. A 2025 study found thallium, a toxic metal, in natural shilajit and in some supplements (Kamgar 2025). No report we read includes it. Ask a brand for a thallium result if it matters to you.

Is shilajit safe?

Skip it if you have too much iron in your blood (hemochromatosis) or are pregnant or breastfeeding, and ask a doctor first if you take regular medicine. There are no long-term safety studies. See our shilajit guide.
