What to check on an NR label

  • Which form of NR. Tru Niagen uses NR chloride (sold as Niagen). Thorne NiaCel uses NR hydrogen malate and adds betaine. The milligrams on each label are for that form.
  • Capsules per serving. Both products list 1 capsule as a serving.
  • A registry listing that covers your pack. NSF Certified for Sport lists Tru Niagen 300 mg in 30-, 60- and 90-capsule packs and NiaCel 400 in the 60-capsule pack.

What human trials of NR have measured

Human trials of NR have been small (8 to 40 people) and short (21 days to 12 weeks). Most measured NAD+ in blood or muscle, which is a lab measure. Trials that measured other things found no significant difference, or said they were too small to tell.
