Why testing matters for NMN
Some NMN bottles hold far less than the label says. A 2024 lab study tested NMN and urolithin A supplements bought online and in pharmacies. Amounts ranged from 28.6% above the label to 100% below it, so some had none of the ingredient at all (Sandalova 2024).
A testing list means an outside group checks the product and lists it by name, so you can look it up. A brand’s own “lab tested” line is its word alone.
FDA said on September 29, 2025 that NMN is not excluded from the dietary supplement definition. Makers still notify FDA, and acceptance of a notification is not a safety finding.
What each list checks
Some lists check the label amount: that the bottle holds what the label says. Others test for drugs banned in sport. We also searched USP Verified and Informed Sport; neither lists an NMN we link.

- Find the program name. Look for NSF or Informed Choice on the bottle. “Third-party tested” with no program named is a claim.
- Search the program’s own list. NSF/ANSI 173, NSF Certified for Sport, Informed Choice. Or use our testing-list index.
- Match the product, not just the brand. “Made in an NSF-certified facility” means the factory passed an audit, not that NSF lists the product.
- Check the lot. Elysium’s NSF listing shows lot numbers. Renue By Science posts a lab report for each batch number on its site.

Is “made in an NSF-certified facility” the same as NSF certified?
No. That phrase means the factory passed an audit. A product is NSF certified only when NSF lists the product by name. Search the brand on NSF’s own list to be sure.
What did FDA say about NMN supplements?
FDA said on September 29, 2025 that NMN is not excluded from the dietary supplement definition, reversing its 2022 position. Makers still notify FDA before selling a new dietary ingredient like NMN, and FDA calls its acceptance of a notification “a procedural matter,” not a safety finding.
Is liposomal NMN better?
We found no human trial showing that liposomal NMN is absorbed better. Treat it as a form choice. The one liposomal NMN we price, Codeage Liposomal NMN Platinum, costs $2.67 per 500 mg; most plain capsules cost less.
