A day of B-complex costs $0.079 to $0.45 in the 12 products we compare, at list price. Our pick, Nature Made Super B-Complex, is $0.083 a day. 9 of the 12 have more B6 than the EU’s 12 mg adult limit, so compare the B6 too.

This page is not medical advice. Ask your doctor first if you take medicine, are pregnant, or have blood tests coming. A B-complex is not a prenatal vitamin.

Nature Made’s own site lists it as discontinued. Amazon still sells it; if it sells out, our pick is Nature's Bounty Super B-Complex.

Which to buy

  • Most people: Nature Made Super B-Complex, $0.083 a day (about $2.48 a month). It is on a testing list and under every limit we check.
  • Want methylfolate and methyl B12: Thorne B-Complex #12, $0.43 a day (about $13.00 a month), on NSF/ANSI 173, but with 23.4 mg of B6.
  • Lowest cost: Nature's Bounty Super B-Complex, $0.079 a day (about $2.37 a month). It has no testing listing and 1,000 mcg of biotin, so tell your lab before blood tests.

Do you need one? Most people in the US get enough B vitamins from food (NIH). Older adults, vegans, and people who take metformin or an acid reducer are more likely to be low in B12. A blood test tells you.

The data is in our free data file. A testing listing means a lab checked what is in the bottle, not that the dose suits you. Red B6 is over the EU’s 12 mg adult limit (EFSA 2023). Not on a public testing list means we found no listing on the NSF, USP or Informed lists. To choose by need, see the best B-complex, or how much of each B you need.

Compare the B6, not just the price

Price does not tell you the B6. The two cheapest have 5 mg and 2 mg; 6 of the 12 have 50 mg or more. NIH’s upper limit for adults is 100 mg a day and the EU’s food safety agency (EFSA) says 12 mg. Niacin matters too: NIH’s limit for niacin from supplements is 35 mg, and 9 of the 12 are over it (the limits).

A day is the label serving, one tablet or capsule for most products. Country Life’s is two capsules, so its 240-capsule bottle lasts 120 days. The cost column already counts that.
