Our recommendation
Buy Culturelle Digestive Daily
USP checks that it holds what the label says, breaks down in your body as it should, and has no harmful levels of contaminants. It holds LGG, which cut diarrhea from antibiotics in children’s trials: 10 billion CFU, one capsule a day.
Buy on Amazon- Play a tested sport? Klean Probiotic is NSF Certified for Sport, which also screens for substances banned in sport.
- Prefer a gummy? OLLY Probiotic + Prebiotic is on NSF/ANSI 173.

Cost is at each brand’s own price (October 19, 2026); Amazon’s can differ. USP lists the 80-capsule Culturelle; our 30-capsule box has the same label. NSF’s “Culturelle NBE” and “Align NBE” listings are ingredient formulas from Lallemand, not the bottles you buy. Garden of Life’s Dr. Formulated probiotics are also on NSF/ANSI 173, but Amazon sells them only through other sellers right now, so we do not link them.
Not on any testing list (10)
We also compare Florastor, Align, Seed DS-01, RepHresh Pro-B, Thorne Women’s Daily Probiotic, AZO Complete Feminine Balance, Culturelle Women’s 4-in-1, Jarrow Saccharomyces Boulardii, Schiff Digestive Advantage and Visbiome. We found none of them on USP Verified, NSF Certified for Sport, NSF/ANSI 173, Informed Sport or Informed Choice. That does not mean a product failed a test: brands pay to join. No list checks whether a strain works for a goal, so some of these are still our picks, for vaginal health and travel.
What does each list check?
| Program | What it tells you about a probiotic |
|---|---|
| USP Verified | Checks that the product holds what the label says, breaks down as it should, and has no harmful levels of contaminants, and audits how it is made. |
| NSF Certified for Sport | Everything NSF/ANSI 173 checks, plus a screen for substances banned in sport. |
| NSF/ANSI 173 | Checks that what the label says is in the bottle, and that there are no harmful levels of contaminants. NSF audits each year. |
“Tested” on a label is not a listing
Some marks are not contents tests. Florastor’s bottle shows an NSF mark, but it is NSF Certified Gluten-Free, which checks for gluten, not for what is in the capsule. Seed says it is third-party tested for pesticides, allergens and heavy metals, and Align says it DNA-tests each lot for its strain. You cannot look those claims up; a listing you can.
How to check your own bottle
- Search the list by product name: NSF Certified for Sport, NSF/ANSI 173 or USP Verified.
- Match the exact product and form (capsule or gummy) to the listing, not just the brand.
